Love’s Width and Length, Height and Depth

ShannonJordanInchwormGod’s Love.

How much would my world change if I totally embraced how much God loves me? The last couple of days I have been mulling over this. The idea that God has a deep and abiding love for me. Deeper than my love for my husband, my children, or even myself.

What if I just mulled over that.

What if I just sit with that for a while each day?

When my head is on right, and I am looking at life with God, I see glimpses of how much God loves me through the gifts God gives me each day. Like seeing this inchworm. I do wonder why God created inchworms. I do know that when I saw it, it brought me joy. It was a glimpse of how big our God is through something that is just a few millimeters long.

This week in my Renewing Prayer class, we were reminded that any time we experience emotional upset it is an opportunity to go to God and be freed from the lies that cause the emotional upset. I am not quite at the place that I respond with joy at emotional upsets on the same level as when I see an inchworm on a sunflower, but at least I have a glimpse of something beyond myself!

I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believers. I ask that you’ll know the love of Christ that is beyond knowledge so that you will be filled entirely with the fullness of God.

Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us; glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always. Amen. (Eph. 3:18-21, CEB)ShannonJordanInchworm
